On Saturday 29th September 2018 members of the Constantia Care office staff will be taking a leap of faith and undertaking tandem skydives in a bid to raise much needed funds for Alzheimer’s Society.
There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. This will soar to 2 million by 2051. 225,000 people will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes! 1 in 6 people over the age of 80 have dementia.
Most people know a family that has been affected by the condition and seen the devastation it has on relationships, leaves people socially isolated, and affects both the health and finances of family carers. All too often, family carers sacrifice their own well-being to ensure their loved one has the best care possible. Their experiences underline the urgent need for research to defeat dementia.
We are so proud of the four ladies from our office and cannot wait to hear all about it when they come back to work on Monday and you can be assured that we will share it all with you too.
